Who we are
Athletics Malawi is the governing body mandated to run athletics activities in Malawi. It is affiliated with the Malawi National Council of Sports, the Malawi Olympic Committee, World Athletics, and other regional, continental, and international bodies that aim to develop athletics.

To develop and promote athletics from the grassroot
Objectives
To effectively oversee and foster athletics in Malawi, AM has established the following objectives.
- Developing and governing athletics sports in Malawi
- Organizing competitions, events, programs, and activities at the national level
- Controlling and supervising competitions and recognizing records of achievements in athletics.
- To regulate athletics through the development of rules and regulations and enforcement mechanisms.
- Protecting the integrity of athletics and Athletics Malawi by developing and enforcing standards of conduct and ethical behavior and implementing good governance
- Disseminating technical, medical, anti-doping, logistical, and other information on athletics sport
- Complying with the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Code;
- Supporting and assisting Regional Committees to promote and develop Athletics by the objectives of AM
- Preserving the right of every individual to participate in athletics as a sport without discrimination;
- Cooperating with other sports disciplines and authorities to promote the interests of sports generally and athletics in particular; and raising funds for the athletics sport
